Payment and Fees

A standard session lasts 50 minutes – fees for longer sessions are prorated accordingly. Costs for psychological testing vary depending on what types of testing and reporting are involved. Please contact Dr. Rebeck regarding current fees for her services.

Coming to see me is an investment in you or your family's future personal development. Many people use their medical insurance for either partial or full fee reimbursement, whereas others choose to pay for services privately.

If insurance is used, confidentiality issues arise. Insurance companies require information such as a psychiatric diagnosis (for example, using a label such as “depression”), type of therapy, and the dates of service.

Some insurance plans require “Managed Care” in which case they require more detailed personal information for session approval. Also, there are national insurance databases that enable other insurers to access this information and use it to make decisions regarding future applications for medical, life, disability, or long term care insurance. This is a concern for some people but not others.

Self-payment assures your complete privacy within the limits of state and federal laws. You may consider paying for my service yourself as you would for other personal or business services that you value. The fee for my services is deductible as a medical expense, to the extent allowed by federal tax laws.

Of course, your insurance cannot be used to cover certain services that are not considered to be psychiatric illnesses, such as life or business coaching.

If I am a preferred provider with your insurance company, or if you have Medicare Part B, then I will bill your insurer directly for their portion of the fee and you are responsible for your portion at the time of service.

If I am not a preferred provider with your insurance plan, then I expect payment at the time of service. I will fill out the necessary form and you will need to submit the claim form yourself.

I am a preferred provider with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and a Medicare Part B provider. Cash or checks are acceptable for payment, but I don’t accept credit card payments.
